Canadair F-86E(M) Sabre

341 Squadron, 114 Wing, Hellenic Air Force, Tanagra, Greece, 1959

Time for another NMF (Natural Metal Finish) aircraft! I think that the red tail of this Hellenic Air-Force machine goes together very nicely with the metal finish!

The Airfix kit is very good and the assembly was uneventful. It includes a nicely detailed cockpit, the two gun-bays on the side and posable speebreaks. However, I thought I should upgrade it a bit with some extra details. I got an Eduard upgrade set, mostly for the cockpit and the paint masks. The set did include exrta details for the gun bays, the landig gear and the speedbrakes so that was even better!

The F-86 Sabre was a classic Korean-war era aircraft and it got me thinking I should also get and build it’s “counterpart” the Mig-15. Let’s see what I can do about this…
